Walking Photography

Would you like to find out how to take better pictures with your camera or smart phone? These sessions are aimed at people wanted to connect with the forest and with others all whilst learning some new photography skills. 

our walking photography groups develop creativity through understanding the potential of the camera or smartphone, whilst helping individuals to connect to the environment and landscape around them.

Our photography walks are guided by Simon Thurlow.

Going on a photo walk?

1. Learn as much as you can about your photo walk location.

​2. Bring only what you need.

​3. Use one lens that best suits your need.

​4. Set your camera in advance.

​5. Anticipate the shot.

​6. Shoot from different angles.

​7. Capture anything that catches your eye.

Photography Walks Winter to Spring

Funded by a Two Ridings Community Foundation and donations from Co-op customers. These sessions were delivered across the winter months to spring to reduce isolation to improve social and mental wellbeing. the photographs below were taken in Swainby, Stokelsey, Newton Wood, Codbeck Reservoir, Great Ayton.
