North East Women’s Walking Football Trials
A great turnout for the first North East Women’s Walking Football Trials at the Middlesbrough Sports Village. A tough selection for our very own North East Director and now The Walking Football Association’s regional manager, former-professional footballer, Janette Hynes MBE. End of Season Celebration!
A great end of season league games at tees valley summer friendly league in Middlesbrough yesterday!! Over 120 competitors in 10 teams across the north from Hartlepool, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland!! This was the 1st year for this new league supported by WFA rules . Feel Good in the Forest

Great Ayton Allotment Stories
Wonderful social documentary featuring photography and audio stories by Simon Thurlow in Great Ayton This week I headed back to the Great Ayton Allotments in North Yorkshire. In 2024 I started documenting what the allotments means to the community, when its future looked uncertain, after the land on which the allotments sit was designated for sale. The Allotment Association developed a fundraising group to raise £50.000, which would allow them with help of the parish council
